Detroit vs Everybody
I headed out to Detroit a couple weeks ago on the black friday weekend to explore and take in a bit of culture the city has to offer. I have been really interested in Detroit for a couple of years now seeing some the decay photography thats been done, and I always wanted to check it out for myself and see what kind of state the city is in with the huge abandoned train station as the main stop I wanted to see. We also made some musical stops at Cliff Bell's and The Grasshopper to check out house producer Kerri Chandler and did some black friday shopping (I bought some Jordan's). To keep it cultured we went to the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Ford Museum and took in some amazing bits of art history - the Diego Rivera mural is everything I thought it would be. While the city is on rough times it wasn't as depressing as I thought it would be, everybody there seems to be optimistic about what the city is going to be and are looking at ways to make things better. There were a lot of amazing things to see and I would totes go back.
While there I promised myself I would only shoot with film and all the shots here are either with my Canon AE-1 or my Rolleiflex T 3.5 using porta 400 35mm or extar 100 120mm which I scanned and uploaded.
